The beach and a crab

I haven't completely disappeared!
 We are at the beach and
I have taken several darling
pics of crabs!   Hope this one
turns out ok......more later
 on Monday and hopefully
of some darling seals too.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

No more rain, but baby birds

No more rain or clouds as of
yesterday June 7th, 10:15 am!
I woke up to a cloudy day
(which was to be expected)
but by 10:15 it was mostly
 sunny! YIPPEE!   Now of course
I don't want it to get too
hot too quick like the rest
of the country.   Low to
mid-80's expected over
the next few days.
I am sure I will be
complaining in a couple
of weeks that it is too hot.
I finally got a couple of pics
of the little bird babies
yesterday!
There are at least 2.

 But now one has "fallen/flew"
down to the porch railing
and is sitting in the pansies!

The parents are attending to it,
 but I haven't seen them going
up to the nest to feed the other
 one....sigh.

RAIN, RAIN AND MORE RAIN

Well we are still having lots of rain
which is suppose to end by Tuesday.
Really?    But I would rather have
 it rain than be 95 or 100 degrees
 like most of the country.
Hope everyone is comfortable
no matter where you live.  :o)
 Here are some quotes
I found in our local free paper,
to either help you appreciate
the rain or feel nice and cool.

Some people walk in the rain,
others just get wet.
--- Roger Miller

Many a man curses the rain that
falls upon his head, and knows
not that it brings abundance to
drive away the hunger.
--- Saint Basil

Bad weather always looks
worse through a window.
--- Author Unknown

The trouble with weather forecasting
is that it's right too often for us to
ignore and wrong too often for us
to rely on it.
--- Patrick Young

And this last quote I love:

Let the rain kiss you.
Let the rain beat upon
 your head with silver
 liquid drops.
Let the rain sing you
a lullaby.
--- Langston Hughes

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Yesterday, Mike, Cheryl and I finally
 saw  Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  It was so much fun
 with spectacular effects and incredible
 scenes.  Of course, Johnny is still
easy on the eyes
 and darling in his character.  :o)
Can't wait until Part 5!
Also, wait until after the long credits
for a quick scene at the very end.

  Front porch pansies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The little birds on the front
porch have hatched although
I have no idea when.  I kept
watching the past 3 weeks, but
never saw anything or heard
a peep.    Mike thought he saw
them a couple of days ago
when the mommy bird (or
daddy bird, there are 2 birds
tending the nest) flew up and
appeared to be feeding them.
Today I actually saw 2 little tilted
heads, but couldn't get a picture.
This is the best I could manage!
One of the parents has a hurt/deformed
 foot, but seems to be doing ok.   I
keep a look out as much as I can
 for all the cats that are out and about.
We still have unseasonable cool
 weather and rain.   When I took
 these pics it was dusk and clearing
 a bit although another storm is
suppose to be coming Friday morning
thru Saturday.....also some rain on
Sunday and Monday too!
I am behind in all my planting
as I keep thinking it is March,
not June!    I shouldn't complain
as the rest of the nation is having
 such a hard time, but where is
 our lovely Northern California Spring?
Make them bloom
People deal too much with
 the negative, with what is wrong...Why not try and
see positive things, to just
 touch those things and make
 them bloom?
--- Thich Nhat Hanh
My friend Marie and I went to a
couple of nurseries this past week
and of course,  found all sorts of
wonderful plants!    The above is
a Sunscape Daisy and looks just
like a sunset.
Another friend and I saw the movie
Something Borrowed.   There is a book
out, in fact two, so we are looking
forward to the second one,
Something Blue.
It was cute, although something
was a bit off that I wish they
would have explained a bit more,
but I love these romantic
comedies anyway!
I forgot to mention that Mike
and I saw Soul Surfer and Rio
this past month too.  Both were
great movies and I wasn't
disappointed in Soul Surfer.
 I was so looking forward to it
 and it was wonderful!
May 12th was International ME/CFS Awareness Day.
Yesterday, May 12th, was
 International ME/CFS Awareness Day.
For a glimpse of what it is like
to live with this devastating disease/virus
please click HERE
Here is a bit from Laurel's post ---
"For the millions who are sick, for the millions who have lost years of their lives, and for the millions more who will later become afflicted, please take a moment from your day to reflect and remember. If you know someone with ME/CFS, take the time to write them a quick note and let them know you care, and you have not forgotten them. Take time to learn more about this devastating disease and help spread the word to increase awareness. Take the precious time and the blessing of good health that so many ME/CFS patients have lost, and savor it. Savor it not just for yourself, but for them. For all of those who have lost so much, and who so desperately want their lives back."
In honor of Laurel
 (and her outside birds)
this photo is a new nest on our front
porch.   I wish the Mommy bird was
there, but she must be eating.
Hopefully the little eggs while hatch
over the next couple of weeks.   :o)
I'll try to get a photo of them if I can.
(At least, I think there are eggs up there!)
  The previous owners put up the wire,
but this is the first year in five
that the birds have made a nest.
I am so excited!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GOOD BLESSINGS
TO ALL WHO SUFFER.

UPDATE:
Here is the Mommy bird!
She was on her nest, but
flew out when she saw me.

Betty's 90th Birthday

Today we celebrated Betty's
90th birthday at our local
health food store.   Betty works
 there twice a week, each a 3 hour
shift.  She wanted to say she worked
 until she was 90!   I asked her if
now she was going to work until
she was 95 and she said,
"if she'll have me!"
She gives me such hope!
A friend called tonight to say
Betty was at a local bar with
 friends for Margarita Wednesdays
sipping a margarita!
Such inspiration !   :o)

MAY WE ALL LIVE A LONG
 AND HEALTHY LIFE FILLED WITH PLENTY OF CUPCAKES
 (SHE HAD 2 TODAY)
AND MARGARITAS!
