Christmas Cookies

Well, things are looking up! I actually did 2 more things I have wanted to do for years...go to a Christmas Eve service and make sugar cookies! First, Mike and I, his sister Terri, and my in-laws Ruth and Ted went to Christmas Eve service at 9:30 pm on, of course, Christmas Eve. We sang Christmas songs, heard the Christmas story and at the end, lit candles to Silent Night. It was magical and happy. Secondly, I made sugar cookies and decorated 5 of them ! :o)

The Christmas tree with the little star garland, pink snowman, orange and brown reindeer, yellow star with multi-color sprinkles and the blue bell with silver jimmies and a white snowflake knocker.

I baked 2 batches.....the first one on Sunday the 19th was gluten-free. They tasted ok, but not exactly how I remembered them so out they went. On Monday the 20th I baked another batch with regular flour, but since I used a mixture of xylitol and unprocessed sugar they were a little on the brown side and a bit soft. I kept them in the frig for 5 or 6 days and brought them with me to my in-laws. On Christmas afternoon, my mother-in-law Ruth and sister-in-law Terri and myself decorated most of them. Now I can say I made sugar cookies after 15 years !
Thank you Ruth and Terri for encouraging me to get them decorated and helping me!

Hope everyone had a lovely and joyful Christmas weekend!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas !

From Unity's Daily Word - December 25th 2010

Christ in me is the hope of glory.

On this Christmas morning, what can I offer the reborn Spirit of Christ within me? I can offer eyes that look for the goodness of God in all people. I can offer hands ready to serve in small and large ways. I can offer feet that will walk in the path of peace and light.

On this Christmas morning, I offer the Christ Spirit within me a mind willing to believe in eternal possibilities. I offer a voice that sings of faith, joy, love and oneness. I offer my cooperation in establishing the kingdom of heaven here on earth.

Celebrating today the birth of Jesus, I find in my heart a new willingness to believe that I can do my part in making Christmas not just one day in the year, but a way of living life.

Know the love of Christ...so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. --- Ephesians 3:19

Another HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hey, look what I found?
My lost post I did on
Thanksgiving Day from Disneyland! Yippee!
In the front car is my niece, Reyna and nephew, Nino....behind them (2nd car) is my niece, Jasmine and my brother, Anthony. If you look at his left hand you can see he is filming her with his camera. Wish I could post it
somehow....it is a riot! Actually I will see if I can get it on youtube.
And I can't believe this picture turned out as well as it did....the coaster was going pretty fast!

GREETINGS FROM DISNEYLAND!
Yes, we are at Disneyland for Thanksgiving!
As I mentioned in my last post, Mike and I came down with my Dad, Stepmom, brother, sister and my 3 nieces and one nephew.(all under the age of 10) Of course the kids are having a ball and we are too. My brother Anthony was able to film our little niece Jasmine (4 years old) while they were riding the little roller coaster in Toontown. I wish there was a way to post it...Her expressions are so cute as she is going over all the hills! Mike and I only made it on a few rides on Wednesday. Pirates, Haunted House, Tom Sawyer's Island, Jungle Cruise, Autopia, Snow White, Pinocchio and Alice in Wonderland. Well, I guess that is more than a few. It was quite crowded and the lines were quite long. The weather was cool yesterday and the nights have been very cold for Southern California. It is suppose to warm up slowly over the next couple of days, but I don't think it will get over 70. Tonight we are having Thanksgiving dinner at the Disneyland Hotel, but not until 8:40 pm.
I am not able to post any pictures now so just loving greetings and many blessings to everyone reading this post.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING !

Sleeping Beauty's Castle

If you were a four year old girl
wouldn't you be thrilled with
this castle and play figures?
When we were at Disneyland
my niece, Jasmine, wanted this castle
and tried to carry it around the store.
Mike and I went back later
and had to buy it for her.
I hope she still wants it ! :o)

It comes with all these character figures
and furniture too, including
a throne... I can't wait to play with it!

Here is the real Sleeping Beauty's Castle
all dressed up for Christmas.
It is such a magical sight in person.
The park has a ceremony each night
to light it and then it snows in various
places on Main Street and
at It's A Small World.....heavenly.

HAVE A SPARKLING DAY !

Christmas Cookies (sprinkles that is!)

Well, since I got to dress up this past Halloween and go to a party(which is something I have wanted to do since our party in 2002) I decided that this is the year I will make decorated sugar cookies again! I used to make these every year. The kind that you frost and then painstakingly put each little decoration on by hand. For instance, Christmas Trees. They used to make little flat dots (kinda like the little stars below) that I would take one by one and place them ever so carefully on each cookie like garland. So when I saw these colorful little stars at the grocery store I couldn't resist buying both bottles to try my hand again. The other bottles I have been collecting this season are left to right......Red & White Sparkling Sugar, Sugar Pearls, Multi-color Stars, Gold Sugar, Silver Pearlized Jimmies and Jumbo Snowflakes in Blue & White ! All are made in the USA.....no made in China food products here.(you have to check the labels) I hope to make them this weekend as we (Northern California) are due for more rain starting Friday (it was clear today and supposedly tomorrow too) with rain continuing into the end of next week. Don't know if it will rain on Christmas or not, but either way it will be grand!

Oh my goodness !

Oh by gosh, by golly, it's time for
mistletoe and holly.........I can't
believe it's been almost
3 weeks since my last post!
I thought I did one post in
December, but not.....
Anyway, Disneyland was
cold, some rain, some crowds,
but still fun.
I'll leave you with
a picture of Minnie Mouse's
cottage decorated for
Christmas....isn't her
tree just fun eye-candy?

HOPE EVERYONE IS GETTING
THEIR LISTS CHECKED OFF
AND HAVING FUN TOO!
