HAPPY SPRING ! GIVE-AWAY!

Did everyone enjoy their first
day of Spring?  Ours was cool,
 pouring(and I mean pouring!)
rain 10 minutes and then 10
 minutes of the sun peeking
thru the clouds.  It was like
that for most of the day.
Today was peek-a-boo with
the sun and still cool.  We shall
see what Tuesday brings.
Our water went off on Sunday.
We have a well so I had to
go out and flip the switch.  I
came in and turned on the water
and it wouldn't go on.   Out again
to flip the switch and again the
water wouldn't go on.  Both
times I had turned it on towards
the hot water.  So the third time
I tried the cold and it came on!
YIPPEE!  But it was short lived
as it went off again.  So out again
and on again the water.....let the
faucet run a couple of minutes and
it stayed on so I thought all was
okay.  I started a load of laundry
and 2 inches into filling the basin,
it turned off again.  Good grief,
I didn't know if it had something
to do with the water-heater or not.
It seemed like every time I had
the hot water on for more than
a minute or two it shut off.  Anyway,
now a long story short, it was a
broken pipe going to one of the
outside faucets!  The guys got it
figured out and now, as far as I
know, I have water again!  I'll let
you know the next time.  (after
I take a shower, do a load of
 laundry and use the dishwasher!)

Did you get pinched?

Did you remember to wear
green yesterday?   I have
 several neat old shamrock
pins I couldn't wait to wear,
but I forgot to wear one!
   Luckily my heavy winter
coat is green so I didn't
get pinched!  Remember
back in grade school, if
you didn't wear green you
got pinched?  I did wear
 a pin today, but not
 quite the same.  :o)

JAPAN rescue and Kevin Clash, the man behind Elmo

Yes, I have disappeared for a
 couple of weeks.  Not much
more to say about that (or
at least at this time.)
I did want to share a couple
of things that I hope you
will find uplifting during
 this sad time for
 Japan and the world.

Sixty-year-old survivor Hiromitsu
Shinkawa waves from wreckage,
 as crew members of Japan
Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF)
Aegis vessel Choukai rescue him.

"A 60-year-old man was rescued two
days after he was swept miles out
to sea on the roof of his house by the
huge tsunami which hit Japan Friday,
plucked to safety at 12:40 p.m local
time Sunday (10:40 p.m. Saturday ET)
after he  was spotted nine miles off
shore by the crew of a Maritime
Self-Defense Force destroyer, the AFP
said."  To read the rest of this msn
 article, please click HERE
Such good news during this distressing
time.  Can you imagine the joy, both the
rescuers and Hiromitsu must have felt
when they saw each other?
I am sending Hiromitsu and all
 his country-people loving
 thoughts and prayers.
Please join me.

Only a few more pages left in my
little Hallmark book.  This quote is
 by Lao-tzu  Chinese philosopher

And lastly, to leave you
feeling happy and I hope,
 in a good mood,
 this wonderful interview about
Kevin Clash, the man who is Elmo!

Click HERE for the article on
Mom & Pop Culture's website.
 This new documentary,
 "Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey"
is directed by Constance Marks.
What a nice story showing
Kevin's life and journey as a
puppeteer and becoming not
only Elmo, but several other
characters over the years.
Thanks Kevin for the laughs
and the sweet disposition
 of dear Elmo!
Several years ago, Elmo
was on the Martha Stewart
show and I remember he
said several funny comments
that were just shy of adult
humor....I got such a kick
out of him and have loved
him from that day on.  I was
so happy to see this article
and learn about this talented
 man.  Little Elmo seems so
real, it's hard to believe there
is a man behind the puppet!
