All the flowers
of tomorrow
are in the seeds
of today.
--- Chinese Proverb
Right now, the remnants of what was supposed to be one of the safest offshore oil rigs in the world is spilling 5,000 barrels of oil a day into waters off the Louisiana coast. I just urged the Obama administration to reject a proposal that could dramatically expand harmful drilling along U.S. coasts and I hope you will too. Send a message online at

The Helping Hand Of Oregon

Are you from Portland, Oregon? If so, this organization was founded by my husband's brother, Rick and his wife, Julie. If you are so inclined, please check it out and contribute what you can. They are doing wonderful work and a true example of allowing God to work through you to help others.

EARTH DAY - Our World

The above photo was taken a couple of days ago. Today is sunny and 72. Yesterday it was wild and windy and rainy with the sun peeking throughout the day and only 55 degrees! My, what a difference a day can make.

This is a tree across the street. I can lie in my bed and see it. It always reminds me of the heart. The base is large and strong, the branches are the arteries and then, of course, the little branches are the capillaries, reaching as far as they need to. It looks especially lovely when the sky is blue and the outline is so distinct. It always brings me peace.
Today's post is from Daily Word, a little magazine put out by Unity.
~ Our World ~
I am a conscious, conscientious part of a living world.
"The abundant life on this planet provides for all my physical needs. Everything I need comes directly or indirectly from the bounty of the earth. Conscious of the interconnection of all life systems, I am amazed by the order that governs it all. I, too, am part of that order, an integral part of the web of life.
I live responsibly as a citizen of Earth, and I consciously do my part to protect and restore this beautiful planet. I join with my children, my grandchildren, neighbors and friends in living harmoniously with nature. Aware of the impact I and others have on the systems that support all life, I am a conscientious inhabitant of God's abundant Earth.
--- This is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best. --- Philippians 1:9-10"

Glory Day, Easter Day,
Your stone has been rolled away.
Jesus has shown us
how to be free---
but are we really listening?
Now is the time to be
happy & gay,
patient & kind
with each new day,
--- Lori Bei-Durst

Well it looks like they printed this postcard's pansies upside down!

Whatever your stone is, let it roll away each day.

Poor, dear, silly Spring,
preparing her annual
--- Wallace Stevens
Guess what we stumbled upon today on our day trip to Mendocino? The Parade Of Fools !
It was about 5 pm and we were just returning to our car after climbing around the bluffs above the beautiful Pacific Ocean and we heard some yelling and laughing and beating of drums. And there they were.......a parade of fools! So funny and inspiring. Some were dressed up and the kids were having so much fun! It made you want to just join right in! The woman in purple seemed to be the ringleader and she was asking the "fools" to tell silly jokes. It was windy and I tried to get a good pic of their sign without much luck.
Here they come!
The sign-holders (so cute!) waiting for
the rest of the "fools".

Everyone catching up and telling jokes.

Onward to the next block and inside they went to
Out of this World, a store that sells
binoculars, telescopes and science toys.

I wished I had gotten a group pic, but I was in such a state of surprise that I was dumbfounded!
Hopefully I will post a couple of ocean pics tomorrow.
